How to fix a slow loading website

How to fix a slow loading website

So you have got this amazing looking WordPress website, but it loads so slow due to large image files it feels like you have gone back in time to the year 2000 and on dial-up speeds… again… (Remember that?)

In the past, you had one option. Go through each photo of your website, resize them and replace them or go to a graphic designer/web designer and ask them to professional resize and upload each image for you… We are talking big bucks potentially if you have an e-commerce store.

This is a major issue for website owners due to the amount of time it takes to compress each one but is now one of the easiest to resolve thanks to a new category of online software that can integrate with your site and fix the problem in a few clicks.

(YES THAT IS RIGHT NO MORE BIG OPTIMISATION COSTS!)

So how do they work?

Online image compression tools integrate with your website through a WordPress Plugin which downloads/resizes/restores each image in your websites media gallery including their thumbnails.
Many of these platforms support multiple web formats too including jpeg, png and newly emerging WEBP format (Image format developed by Google).

New innovators have plans on creating apps soon to plug straight into Shopify websites and other online page builders so stay tuned!

Note: It is always important to do a backup of your website first (I always do this twice to make sure that the site back up is not corrupted) before installing any 3rd party plugins/applications, in case they crash on your server. If you are not experienced with backups, websites etc it is best to have someone manage the process for you.
